a Phrenology headThe University of Buckingham Psychology Department has ranked in the top ten in the UK for the first time ever.

The Guardian League Table previously ranked it 16th, then 14th and now this year seventh, in spite of being one of the smallest psychology departments in the country.

Alan Martin, Head of the Psychology Department, said: “We are very pleased to now come within the top 10 psychology departments in the country in the Guardian league tables. The Guardian league table values those things which undergraduates tell universities they appreciate the most: quality contact time with staff and a positive educational experience. The tutorial system at Buckingham provides both of these things to our undergraduates and because our staff are dedicated to helping our students succeed we score well.”

Politics is also ranked 7th (see here) Accounting and Finance is ranked 22nd, English is ranked 27th, Business, Management and Marketing is ranked 41st, Economics is in 61st place and Law is ranked 69th
