Medical School

Welcome to The University of Buckingham Medical School

Building on from the Buckingham ethos of putting the student first and above all else, our medical school is small enough for our students to be part of a coherent and supportive community, and large enough to provide all the experience you need to become a medical practitioner.

Our condensed 4.5 year MB ChB programme is derived from a well-established curriculum. Its every aspect is engineered to help you develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become a professional and ethical doctor.

The University of Buckingham Medical School received General Medical Council (GMC) accreditation in May 2019. The GMC has commended the University for the ‘excellent professional, academic and pastoral support that extends throughout the University and clinical learning environments’ and ‘the robust systems that ensure the quality of all aspects of the MB ChB programme, including teaching and assessment’.  Take a look at our GMC Accreditation FAQs.

Selection Days

Our admissions process consists of three stages: the first stage is to submit an application with all supporting documents (either via UCAS or directly to us), via the Apply button.

If the applicant meets or is predicted to meet, our entry requirements, they are invited to the second stage to complete the Multiple Mini Assessment, a computer-based test made up of a series of tasks intended to test students’ analysis, interpretation and judgement abilities.

Applicants that achieve a satisfactory grade in the Multiple Mini Assessment, are invited to the third stage which is the Multiple Mini Interview, consisting of a number of observed structured selection examinations.

Exceptionally high performing students may receive an offer after stage 2 in the process, all other offers are made after the multiple mini interview events

We hold numerous selection days during each admissions cycle.

Provisional Dates for our 2022 Selection Days are shown below.

  • 25th August – Stage 2 – Multiple Mini Assessment
  • 8th September – Stage 3 – Multiple Mini Interview
