With a vision to continuously improve the student experience in Buckingham, we are offering new accommodation that will be available from January 2024.

This accommodation provides a new and exciting place for our students to live, with facilities that promise a convenient and enjoyable lifestyle.

The new accommodation will feature:

  • 71 en-suite twin rooms: fully-furnished and ready for students to move into
  • Large, open study spaces: designated areas available for students to study
  • On-site facilities: including a gym, swimming pool, sauna and bar (set opening times)
  • Walking distance: approximately a 10 minute walk to our Verney Park Campus and a 15-20 minute walk to our Hunter Street Campus
  • Catering: breakfast and evening meals, five days a week
  • Weekly bathroom cleans: professional cleaning service
  • Free laundry facilities

Rooms

The rooms each have two single beds. Each student will also have their own bedside units, chest of drawers and wardrobe space. The room will also feature:

  • One Television
  • Mini fridge
  • Microwave
  • Kettle

Our Mount Pleasant Campus is a short walk away from a range of different shops.

Frequently asked questions

How much will it cost?

A shared room will be from £225 per person per week which includes catering Monday to Friday, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. A single room will be £340 per week including catering.

Where is the accommodation located?

The accommodation is located on the ring road between the Tesco and Aldi supermarkets and is currently known as the Best Western Hotel.

The rooms are catered; what is included?

Catering will be Monday – Friday and will consist of breakfast and a two-course dinner. Catering is included in the £225 per person per week fee.

What do students do at a weekend when catering is not available?

There will be limited self-catering facilities for students to use at a weekend in the building designed for weekend use. There are kettles, microwaves, and fridges in every room.

Is there onsite parking available and what is the cost?

There is an onsite car park that will be free for residents and staff.

How long is my licence agreement for?

Accommodation licences will be issued for 48 weeks, in the same way as our current accommodation agreements are issued.

The bar will be open by the university and times on opening are to be agreed.
