Record year for Friends of the University of Buckingham
15 December 2022
As 2022 saw the lifting of Covid restrictions throughout the country, the Friends set out a recruitment drive in order to start improving the lives of students once again through engaging and exciting means.
Thanks to this drive in recruitment, the voluntary group gained a record-breaking 60 new members, with chair Graham Baker stating: “We are probably the fastest growing community group based in Buckingham, Winslow and the surrounding area.” This makes for more unique and social opportunities for students, as well as more funding for the cause.
During lockdowns, the Friends were busy helping with food parcels for students in isolation, but this year they have been able to organise various activities such as animal therapy and afternoon tea.
