Lily Manser (LLB 2013)

Lily ManserI decided to take a year out following my A levels, and as such was keen to obtain my law degree as expediently as possible. Buckingham Law School appeared to be the perfect fit for my requirements.

Buckingham boasts a two-year accelerated law degree, which, if you are serious about studying, is the perfect way to complete your degree. Each term, you study three modules simultaneously and then sit the examinations at the end of the term. Each module is well structured, engaging and taught by experts.

The level of support offered by the Buckingham lecturers is second to none.  Each and every tutor is prepared to go above and beyond to ensure you can fulfil your full potential.

Unlike other universities, Buckingham aims to combine academic learning with practical legal training. This unique combination proves extremely helpful and will give you a head start both on the LPC and in practice.

I graduated from Buckingham in 2013 with a 1st Class Honours degree.  I was also awarded the Sweet and Maxwell Prize for overall academic achievement, and various other departmental awards. I attribute this success to the quality of teaching, the level of support offered by my tutors (most notably Dr James Slater) and my own attitude towards the course.

I went on to complete the Legal Practice Certificate at BPP in Holborn and my training contract at Maclay Murray & Spens in London. I am now an Associate in Rosling King’s Dispute Resolution Department. I have gained experience in commercial dispute resolution including breach of contract claims, insolvency proceedings, shareholder disputes, IP disputes and professional negligence claims. In addition, I have obtained her Higher Rights of Audience and am qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts Civil Proceedings).

I consider that studying my undergraduate law degree on the accelerated course at Buckingham helped equip me for the demands of a career as a City Solicitor.
