Dr. Adekunle Osibogun
Dr. Adekunle Osibogun joined The University of Buckingham as a Trustee on 19 May 2025.
A dual-qualified lawyer, educator, and arbitrator, Adekunle brings extensive experience in dispute avoidance and the resolution of complex commercial disputes. With over fifteen years of practice as a corporate lawyer and dispute resolution expert, he brings a wealth of expertise and a deep passion for the law. Adekunle holds a Master’s degree from the University of Manchester and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
His longstanding relationship with The University of Buckingham began as a student, during which he served as President of the Student Union and as a student member of the Academic Advisory Council. Following his graduation, he played a key role in developing and organising the University’s alumni network. Adekunle later returned to pursue a doctorate in law, with research interests spanning constitutional and public law, including governance structures, the separation of powers, and checks and balances. His most recent publication is Constitutional Democracy in Africa: A Comparative Analysis of Sub-Saharan Commonwealth Countries.
Beyond his legal career, Adekunle is deeply committed to community development and the global promotion of democracy. He currently serves on the governing councils of Buckingham Primary School and the Royal Latin School, and is the Cabinet Member for Education and Children’s Services at Buckinghamshire Council. He also contributes to several committees and leads international research projects and professional consultancy services. In addition, Adekunle plays a key role in the governance of several community impact organisations, including Healthwatch Bucks, Fairhive Homes, and CAFEi.
