Abhiram Adi (BSc Computing with Economics)

I chose The University of Buckingham over some of the traditional ‘Russell Group’ universities, for 3 main reasons. The first being, the accelerated two-year timeframe, which allowed me to focus on my career path and transition from an A-Level student, to a graduate, much faster. Secondly, the University offers several options for combined degrees with Computing, which is very rare in the UK, and I ended up taking the choice of combining Computer Science with Economics, which provided me the opportunity to specialise in two of my key interests. Lastly, the very impressive student-staff ratio at Buckingham, ensured a tailored learning experience from very diverse and knowledgeable lecturers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the School of Computing in Buckingham, as it provided me with opportunities to develop real-life IT projects, and my particular highlight was working with the research department to produce a mobile-based chemical recognition application. I received a lot of support from various lecturers, and because the University is so tight-knit, the collaborative learning that I gained was invaluable.

After graduating from The University of Buckingham, I went to Warwick Business School to gain a Masters in Management (MSc with distinction). I then joined PwC as a graduate Management Consultant. 3 years on, I now work as a Senior Consultant at PwC, specialising in managing technology enabled transformation projects, for FTSE 250 companies across the World. My projects focus on the digitisation of business models, new and disruptive technologies and the strategic change required to drive operational excellence, that differentiates my clients in the market place.
