School of Computing hosts Royal Latin School students for work experience

17 July 2026

Last week, three Year 12 students from Royal Latin School spent three days in the School of Computing exploring how Agentic AI could enhance university admissions.

At the end of their work experience, Emmanuel, Steffaan and Jaswant presented their findings to the Faculty Registrar, faculty admissions officers and academics. What stood out most was their critical analysis of the trade-offs, their recognition of the ethical considerations, and their demonstration of AI agents in action.

Reflecting on their work experience, Jaswant said:

“The University of Buckingham provided us with valuable work experience and made us want to push further into our research of AI.

Conducting this research has made me genuinely excited for the future of Agentic AI.”

Thank you to Dr Nasir Ibrahim and Dr Noman Hanoosh for facilitating the Birdly flying experience for the students.

Professor Harin Sellahewa who hosted the students said, “I was pleased to have been able to spend a few hours supporting students from our local school in Buckingham. We are looking forward to supporting a few more students in August.”
