Industry Expert Highlights the Importance of Data Architecture in Modern Organisations

The School of Computing was delighted to welcome Martin Langlands for a guest lecture entitled “Data Architecture in the Real World“.

Drawing on nearly five decades of experience in IT, particularly within the insurance and financial services sectors, Martin shared valuable insights into the role of business domain modelling and data architecture in connecting business objectives with technology solutions.

Using practical examples from his career, Martin demonstrated how effective data architecture helps organisations manage complexity, improve decision-making and create lasting business value.

His engaging presentation brought key concepts to life, allowing students to see how theoretical principles are applied in real-world settings. We thank Martin for sharing his experience and expertise with our students.
