Celebrating the first learning day of our Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist apprentices
30 October 2025
Our newest intake of Level 7 Digital & Technology Solutions Specialist apprentices visited the University of Buckingham for their first in-person learning day.
The day focused on the ‘Leadership and Innovation in Data Science’ module of the MSc Applied Data Science (Degree Apprenticeship), and featured seminars from academics and industry practitioners.
Professor Harin Sellahewa, Dean of Faculty of Computing, Law and Psychology at The University of Buckingham, started the day with an overview of programme and project management, emphasising the importance of aligning data science projects to business strategy.
Annabelle Chester BSc, MSc, Business Psychologist & Neurodiversity Specialist, and founder of Neurobelle Consulting, delivered an inspiring session on neurodiversity and inclusive leadership, including practical strategies such as job carving to build high-performing, inclusive teams.
Michelle Bury FLPI, the Global Head of Learning and Development (L&D) at Keyloop, shared valuable insights on the role of L&D in establishing high levels of performance to drive successful business operations and explored the impact of rapidly evolving AI on L&D.
We were also joined by Frederik Heda, a recent graduate of the Level 7 programme, to share his experience of the apprenticeship journey and his current work as a senior data scientist & AI lead at bp.
Learners also connected with computing undergraduate and postgraduate research students, who showcased their innovative projects through poster presentations.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the event such a success, including our external speakers Annabelle Chester BSc, MSc, Michelle Bury FLPI, and Frederik Heda.
