Graduation Tickets and Eligibility

Eligibility

To be eligible to attend, your award must have been ratified by Examination Senate and your results communicated to you by Registry. Re-sits and extensions will impact your eligibility to attend Graduation. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please email graduation@buckingham.ac.uk.

To attend your graduation ceremony, any outstanding debts to the University must be cleared in advance of the graduation sign up closing.

Any payments can be made through the online payment portal or by contacting Student Fees on 01280 820250.

Confirm your place

Information of how to sign up to graduation via the sign up link will be included in your official results email, or sent to you via your personal email address.

All bookings are subject to eligibility, including successful completion of your course.

The scheduling of your graduation ceremony is based on your course of study and the number of graduate and guest seats available at Buckingham Parish Church. Whilst every effort is made to reserve and maintain your place in the ceremony to which you were invited, we may sometimes have to re-allocate you to another ceremony on a different date or time; for example, if uptake unexpectedly exceeds capacity. Bookings may close earlier due to ticket availability and limited space at venues.

Tickets

Space for the Graduation Ceremony is limited and students are permitted a maximum of up to two (2) guest tickets. These tickets include entry to the Church and the Graduation Reception (drinks and canapés) following the Ceremony. Tickets for both the Graduation Ceremony and the Reception are free of charge.

We would not recommend bringing children under the age of five years old. Experience shows that they can become restless and uncomfortable at ceremonies. However, if you do opt to bring children, please note:

  • Children three years and over will need to have a ticket
  • Children under the age of three will not require a ticket but will be required to sit on an adult’s lap – this must not be the graduating student
  • Pushchairs cannot be taken into the Church but can be left outside the venue at your own risk
  • If children become unsettled or disruptive during the Ceremony, they will be asked to leave the Church.

Additional Tickets

We are unable to accept requests for additional tickets until after online sign up has closed and we cannot guarantee that any additional tickets will be available, as this is dependant on the maximum capacities of the venues and the uptake for each ceremony.

To request additional tickets to your ceremony please follow the guidance given in your sign-up confirmation email, or by emailing graduation@buckingham.ac.uk, stating how many additional tickets you are looking to obtain and the reason why, after sign up has closed.

Not Attending Graduation

Please complete the online sign up and confirm your non-attendance. You will have the option to request a copy of the Graduation programme if you so wish which will be sent after the ceremonies have taken place. Certificates are posted to graduates within 4 weeks of results being released and are not issued at the ceremony itself.
