His Honour Judge Siddique
Circuit Judge Appointment: Siddique – Courts and Tribunals Judiciary
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the South Eastern Circuit, based at St Albans Crown Court with effect from 16 October 2023
Bilal Siddique will be known as His Honour Judge Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Siddique. He was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1996. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2019, as a Recorder in 2020, as a salaried Judge of the War Pensions & Armed Forces Compensation Chamber in 2021, as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2021, and as a Diversity & Community Relations Judge in 2022.
His Honour Judge Murch
The Lord Chief Justice has deployed him to the Midland Circuit, based at Birmingham Civil and Family Justice Centre with effect from 1 September 2021.
Stephen James Murch, aged 52, will be known as His Honour Judge Murch. He was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1991. He was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2006, as a District Judge in 2017 and as a Recorder in 2018.

Event details
HH Judge Siddique will preside as the trial judge. HH Judge Murch and Charles Hogan will mentor law students performing as Prosecution and Defence Barristers, whilst Sam Wells will assist with the preparatory student workshops.
We anticipate the event will run from 4pm to 5.30pm in the Moot Court, followed by an Alumni guest speaker conversation with law students and colleagues in Room F06 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
