University Associate Director appointed to Executive Board of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

29 January 2021

Mo Girach, Associate Director of the University’s School of Medicine and Allied Health, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Executive Board of the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has around 6,000 highly trained, qualified doctors, nurses, midwives, health visitors, therapists, healthcare scientists and other support staff caring for more than half a million patients from Buckinghamshire and neighbouring counties every year. From caring for people in hospitals to community sites and in patients’ homes, the Trust aims to be bold in how it delivers care in the future.

Mo follows in the footsteps of the University’s Founding Dean of the School of Medicine, Professor Karol Sikora who previously held the same position on the board.

Chair of the Board, Hattie Llewelyn-Davies said: ‘Mo’s extensive experience within the health sector, particularly his work with one of the largest GP co-operatives in the UK, will be invaluable as we aim to transform how we deliver healthcare in Buckinghamshire. Over the next five years, our goal is to radically change the way Buckinghamshire delivers healthcare, by working closely with our health and care partners to build and develop community and primary care services so that patients can access health advice, support and care closer to their homes.’

Commenting on his exciting new appointment, Mo said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of our local NHS Trust. I have heard many great things about the Trust and, in particular, the high quality of services offered in the hospital and community. I am looking forward to working closely with the team and to continuing the collaborative working and partnerships with respective organisations at all levels.”
