Musa Raja appointed roles with Independent Higher Education
5 November 2025
I am delighted to share that Musa Raja, LLB Law student at Buckingham, has been appointed as Chair on Independent Higher Education (IHE)’s Student Advisory Board (SAB), following a competitive application process.
The SAB is the only national forum dedicated to amplifying the student voice within independent providers of higher education across the UK.
Musa has also joined the IHE Board as a Student Board Member. Musa will have the opportunity to both ensure that students share perspectives on key national issues and on the student experience in the SAB and to represent his peers, and provide insights into the student experience, helping to inform policy and decision-making. This reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to facilitating student contributions to our community and supporting disruptive innovation as we collaborate with like-minded organisations and individuals.
Speaking of this achievement, Musa stated:
“I would like to thank the University for providing me with the opportunity to apply for and take on this position, and I’m grateful to have been selected as an IHE Student Representative.
In this role, I look forward to being a strong voice for students, ensuring their concerns, experiences, and ideas are not only heard but actively shape the national conversation around higher education.
My focus will be on bridging the gap between students and policymakers, so that the realities of student life are reflected in the debates and decisions that affect us all.”
