Sovereign AI: Building AI You Can Trust

The University of Buckingham School of Computing, in partnership with PyData Milton Keynes, is hosting Sovereign AI: Building AI You Can Trust as part of Milton Keynes Tech Week 2026.

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly embedded in organisations, public services and critical infrastructure, questions around trust, security, data sovereignty and control are becoming increasingly important. This event brings together academics and practitioners to explore how AI systems can be developed and deployed while maintaining greater control over models, data and digital infrastructure.

The evening will feature speakers from The University of Buckingham, including Professor Harin Sellahewa, Dr Hisham Al Assam, Dr Madara Premawardhana and Dr Philip Obiorah, with sessions covering the future of Sovereign AI, cybersecurity for Sovereign AI, and deploying Large Language Models locally with Gemma.

The event is open to students, academics, technology professionals and anyone interested in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and the future of trusted technology.
