Law Taster

Our upcoming Law Taster Session is a great opportunity to visit our campus, meet our staff, chat to current students, and get a feel for what its like to be a Law student at Buckingham.

Each Taster includes a themed tutorial session, so you can experience what it is like to study Law at Buckingham.

This taster’s theme is: The purpose of criminal law.

Discover why you should study Law at Buckingham

Are you an aspiring solicitor or barrister? Or, perhaps you want to work in management, compliance or financial services? Delivered over two years, our LLB at Buckingham will support you in achieving your career ambitions.

For those interested in qualifying as a solicitor in the UK, we will explain the recent introduction of SQE (Solicitors Qualifying Examinations), and how our law degrees help prepare you for these professional exams, enabling you to choose the accelerated SQE1 preparation courses after graduation. Our innovative and diverse curriculum also contributes to preparation for the practice orientated SQE2, both SQE1 and SQE2 being necessary for qualification as a solicitor.

For those students wishing to qualify as an English barrister, we will explain how our law degrees (single or combined honours) satisfy the academic component of Bar training, the necessary first step to qualifying as an English barrister. Our LLB also satisfies the necessary first step for qualifying as a lawyer in various common law jurisdictions, including Canada, Nigeria, the Bahamas, and Bermuda.

At the taster, you will also find out about our broad range of extra-curricular opportunities to develop your professional skills and experience of legal practice.

Please ensure you arrive at 1pm to ensure you are present for registration.

This is an in-person event being held at our Buckingham campus, and will not be available online at this time. If you are unable to come to our campus, try booking one of our online events.
