Jeremy Corbyn has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington North since 1983. A prominent figure on the left wing of politics, he was Leader of the Labour Party and was elected Leader of the Opposition from 2015 to 2020. After being suspended by Keir Starmer from the Labour Party in 2020, he has sat as an independent MP until forming ‘Your Party’ in 2025 and recently elected as its leader.

Corbyn is a strong supporter of the peace movement and has been a prominent opponent of the Afghanistan, Iraq and now Iran War. He is also a long standing supporter of the right of the Palestinians and others to self-determination.
