Sheraz joined The University of Buckingham in August 2025, having worked at The Bedford College Group as the Executive Director for Digital Transformation.
With his transferable skills, Sheraz has had a successful career spanning almost 30 years in several sectors. This includes the travel and tourism sector, helping TUI in the UK with their Digital Transformation and their transition from Thomson to TUI. Sheraz then moved into construction and worked at National Highways for several years, establishing their Risk and Change functions.
Sheraz has worked in financial services for most of his career (around 20 years), including the Head of Digital Transformation at Santander, and was also head hunted to help set-up a wealth management company in the UK for South Africa’s largest financial services provider (Old Mutual).
Sheraz is known for creating high performing teams through his collaborative and innovative approaches, focusing on people development and utilising technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness, whilst also developing partnerships with suppliers and organisations. Having achieved sustainable results in complex, multinational organisations, he brings extensive international experience having worked in over 12 countries. With his previous experience in the education sector for one of the largest college groups in the UK, and helping them become sector leaders, he is hoping to replicate that success at The University of Buckingham and is passionate about creating a great experience for students, staff and all of the University’s stakeholders.
