Student Union Societies Officer
About My Role
Lauren is the societies officer and ensures that all societies are looked after within the university, such as ensuring that they run the events they are required to. In addition to this her role is to allow the societies to gain any help, advice or funding they require from the SU, working as the middleman to help them communicate and work with the other members of the SU and other societies if needed.
I am originally from Bristol, and having completed a-levels in Spanish, Latin and English literature I decided to study law as this is something that I have always wanted to do, I minored in Spanish as I do not want to lose the language as well as it being able to aid me in the future as the prevalence that languages have within the working world is forever increasing.
I am currently a second-year student, studying LLB Law with Spanish. As well as being the current SU Societies officer, I am also an executive within the Buckingham Bullets cheerleading team. I am bubbly and approachable, making me an ideal person for this role, so that any society leaders or members will find that I am an easy person to talk to.
What I’m working on
I am working on improving the relationships between the members and the executives within societies as well as ensuring that all students feel welcome in one society or another – additionally I am here to help the societies make any improvements they want to make to improve the student experience as a whole.
