Our pledge: A level results and Centre Assessed Grades

18 August 2020

At Buckingham, students are at the heart of everything we do. We know that this year has been challenging for all students, but especially for those receiving their exam results. We are therefore honouring all of the previous offers we have made to students regardless of the A level grades they were awarded on results day. And if a student is in the running for a High Achiever Scholarship, we will use the higher of their awarded results or CAG grades to confirm their eligibility.

Our ethos is to treat students as individuals and to educate them in small group tutorials as well as lectures because you are not just a number to us. We want to help reduce some of the anxiety and enable you to get back on track with your studies and start enjoying the best university experience possible.

The Students’ Union has been piloting a wide range of successful initiatives including outdoor exercise classes, socially distanced picnics and outdoor film screenings. We are in the process of re-opening the majority of our campus facilities and the SU bar is currently open with a new table booking system. We are planning a blended experience of online and face-to-face activities for Freshers’ Week and are looking forward to welcoming all of our new students in September and those who have deferred to January 2021.

If you have been made an offer by our Admissions team please get in touch if you have any questions.

We are still welcoming applications to start with us in September. If you’d like to learn more about us, why not explore the campus and discover more about the student experience through our Virtual Open Day? You can also talk to our current students.

Buckingham is the home of the two-year degree, but if you would prefer to take some time to boost your academic skills and confidence before you start your two-year programme, we also offer honours degrees with a foundation year. These are available across all subject areas – your first year will blend core academic skills with discipline specific modules to give you a solid base of knowledge in your chosen study area. You will experience our small group teaching from the start of your course and student finance funding is available for all three years. If you have any questions or would like to discuss whether this option might be right for you, please email foundation-admissions@buckingham.ac.uk.

If you are ready to apply for any of our courses you can apply direct.
