The Sunday Times University guide for 2010, published on 13 September 2009, has included Britain’s only private university in its league tables in 48th position overall out of 122 UK higher education institutes.

The Sunday Times says ‘We rank the private University of Buckingham for the first time in our main league table this year. Top for student satisfaction, with the lowest level of graduate unemployment, the best student / staff ratio and the lowest drop-out rate compared to benchmark. Buckingham makes quite an entrance …’.

The listing by the Sunday Times follows Buckingham topping the list of campus-based universities in the UK National Students Survey for satisfaction with teaching and care for the fourth year running. It also topped the employability league tables (Times Higher Education, 19 July 2009).

The Vice-Chancellor says ‘We are delighted that the Sunday Times has chosen to include us in the league tables. Students choosing a university are concerned with the quality of teaching and factors associated with that, such as staff / student ratios, drop-out rates and student satisfaction. At Buckingham we put students first and we aim to provide a top-class education in a safe environment’.
