Entrepreneurship degrees

Our entrepreneurship courses prepare you to start your own business, or to work in enterprising and entrepreneurial firms. You will discover what makes entrepreneurs “tick” and the psychology behind their success, allowing you to apply that to your own business journey.

On our entrepreneurship degrees you get to meet plenty of entrepreneurs. Not only will you hear from them as guest lecturers on almost every module you take, but they are also present within the university.

Local entrepreneurs use our “Buckingham Enterprise and Innovation Unit” as a space to work, outside their office. They hold meetings in the Enterprise Hub, and you can even see them working alongside students in our coffee lounge. You will have the opportunity also to attend a monthly networking meeting for business owners from across Buckinghamshire.

During our entrepreneurship programme you will spend at least one term working inside a small business, seeing entrepreneurs in action. The university also has “micro internships” which are paid placements within local companies so you can gain further insights into the world of enterprise.

Your future career

Entrepreneurship courses equip you with the skills to move forward as an entrepreneur, even in the corporate world, where entrepreneurial thinking is in high demand.

Graduates from our entrepreneurship courses have gone on to do amazing things, either running their own businesses or working as “intrapreneurs” within large corporates.

Our students have gone to work in a variety of settings including global banks and major consultancy firms, or they have set up their own businesses. These include a marketing agency, an HR tech start-up, and an electric bike producer.

We support your employability through a Professional Development Portfolio, in which you write reflectively about the professional skills you acquire and use during your time at university. These skills will help you in your studies as well as being crucial for your future career.
