The Intercalated Master of Science in Medical Sciences by research Programme has been designed to provide students and graduates from the medical and dental sciences with an opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge needed to pursue a research-based career in academic medicine.
Students will select from diverse aspects of medical sciences aligned to the expertise in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. They will acquire knowledge and develop understanding of medical sciences research practice and of relevant legal, ethical and public safety considerations. Additionally, students will develop experience of hypothesis-led medical research endeavour by completing an extended research project supervised by subject experts.
You will also be offered pastoral support appropriate to your own needs.
Applicants will ideally be in the top 60% of their academic year, with no fails in the preceding 2 years. However, this is flexible and each case is assessed on its merits. The selection process will be based on written applications and interview.
