HRH The Duke of Kent with MSc student Avijit Roy

His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent today visited the Clore Laboratory to see a demonstration of the use of bioinformatic techniques in the discovery of potential new treatments for diabetes and obesity.

His Royal Highness met Professor Mike Cawthorne and Professor Jon Arch, Director and Deputy Director respectively of the Clore Laboratory, and Dr Kenneth Langlands, Admissions Tutor for Bioinformatics. Professor Cawthorne described the work of the Obesity and Diabetes Research group and MSc student Mr Avijit Guha Roy gave a practical demonstration.
