Our students work hard and play hard and they enjoy their time at Buckingham. Here are the experiences of some current and former students:
Alumni: Francesca Wright (BSc Psychology, 2008)
I chose the University of Buckingham for three reasons: the offer of a 2-year degree; the small class sizes; and the picturesque surroundings conducive to intensive learning. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Buckingham and have hundreds of fond memories and many lifelong friends. The teaching at Buckingham is second to none. The lecturers are all very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive and the small class sizes allow you to receive plenty of one-on-one support. I am now working as a Floating Support Worker for a London-based homeless charity. My role involves working with vulnerable adults with a mental health diagnosis and substance misuse problems. I support clients to deal with their issues proactively and receive support from relevant agencies. My degree in Psychology at Buckingham has given me an excellent understanding of clinical psychopathology and the impact this can have on an individual’s life. I have also used my research skills to write a thesis for my organisation, which has now been published. I am hoping to continue my study in the future and work towards a PhD.
