WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2015The University has come 17th in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards, which are voted for entirely by students, and won fourth place in the Course and Lecturers category.

Buckingham was ranked higher than a number of Russell Group Universities and faced stiff competition from 112 other higher education institutions to secure 17th place.

In the Course and Lecturers category of the awards, held in Central London last week, the University, one of the smallest in the country, did exceptionally well to come fourth out of ten universities.

More than 20,000 students voted in the annual WhatUni awards, which are regarded as an important resource for prospective university students, who are keen to hear honest student opinion.

University of Buckingham Head of Marketing, Julian Lovelock, said: “We are very proud of our students for rating us so highly. Our nomination shows just how much importance our students attach to staff:student ratio, small class sizes and our open door policy, which enables students to have meaningful support from tutors throughout their course.”

The awards revealed an overall rise in student satisfaction this year and that universities with a higher proportion of international students perform better.

Whatuni’s reviews are designed to cover all aspects of a student’s experience and categories include Course and Lecturers, Students’ Union, Accommodation, University Facilities, Clubs and Societies, Job Prospects, City Life, Support Services and Overall Experience.
