Alistair Cota - Why do we still use CPU’s? Computing SeminarWe use computers and electronic devices as part of everyday life. Most of these devices contain a Central Processing Unit (CPU) at the heart of their design. However, when CPU hardware becomes old it cannot be physically rewired and the whole device needs to be replaced. What if we could use reconfigurable computing chips such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) to make devices more adaptable and run programs more efficiently by better using hardware?
