Alistair brings a wealth of experience in higher education fundraising having worked on major campaigns with UCL, Imperial, and University College Cork.
He has considerable experience in the education sector. As founding CEO of the UNIAID Foundation – ‘the students’ charity’ – Alistair developed a thriving organisation with 3.5m online users and funding from major organisations such as HSBC, Cabinet Office, HEFCE, AimHigher and the Sutton Trust. The programme that he developed was recognised by a National Training Award, an E-Learning Award, a World of E-Learning Award and a Third Sector Award.
Alistair is able to build and sustain relationships at the highest level with funders and senior leaders and is in demand as a facilitator and speaker. In 2016 he was key note speaker at the FINZ annual conference (Fundraising Institute of New Zealand) in Auckland, New Zealand and his written work has been features in Philanthropy Impact, the Governance Magazine, The Guardian and the Spectator.
As a director of the Philanthropy Company, Alistair has worked with the British Red Cross, the Scout Association, Save the Children International, NHS England, the Children’s University, NCT, VSO, Experiment in International Living, UCL, Refugee Resource, Oxfam, Hertford College, University of Oxford, the William Morris Gallery and Modern Art Oxford.
Alistair lives in Oxford with his partner, who is an Oxford academic, and family. He is a glider pilot, sailor, musician and member of the Samaritans. He is an associate director of the Philanthropy Company.
