Ed Koch, Programme Director, BSc in Operational ExcellenceEd Koch is a British and South African national. He holds an MSc in Lean Operations Management, a degree in Mechanical Engineering, is a Chartered Engineer, and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Ed’s keen interest lies in enhancing business performance through the ingenuity and capability of people, and with sound operational excellence practice.

ValuPoint Limited

Ed is the Founder and Managing Director of ValuPoint Limited, which provides consulting services in operational excellence, supply chain value improvement, organisation design, and M&A support. He also invests in, and advises a number of small businesses.

Career History

Ed worked for over 20-years in operations in the consumer goods and beverage industries, having either run operations or led manufacturing transformations in Africa, Europe, Latin America, USA, Australia and China.

He was Global Integration Director for Supply Excellence at Anheuser-Busch InBev during 2016-2017. In this role, Ed was a member of the integration team both pre- and post-combination leading the design and integration of the ABInBev and SABMiller Operational Excellence programmes across 300 facilities. He supported the delivery of significant integration synergies.

Prior to this, Ed worked at SABMiller from 2003-2016 in a variety of roles including Plant Manager, and Capital Projects & Product Development lead for Soft Drinks. From 2009 he led SABMiller’s global Operational Excellence programme to improve performance across 120 operations. Ed spent the first nine years of his career with Unilever in South Africa in various operations roles.
