David has been working at a senior level within the Operational Excellence field for over 18 years, helping senior teams within various blue-chip organisations to develop, deploy, lead and measure the effectiveness of their Business Transformations.
David was part of the original team that brought together The Renault-Nissan Alliance as a Lean Enterprise, having spent over a decade prior to that helping Renault move from a ‘jobs for life’, make-for-stock manufacturer to a Lean Production based environment. Through the support of David and his colleagues Nissan returned from a loss-making situation to record profits in 2 years, and the Alliance is now used as a best practice example of an effective Lean Enterprise by many of the world’s top 10 business schools. A huge aspect within this has been Lean Leadership, Policy Deployment and Lean Strategy, and David is recognised as one of the UK’s leading practitioners in these areas.
A well-know and highly respected Top Team Coach, David has pioneered the incorporation of Executive Coaching within the Lean Enterprise model, linking Executive Team support with the achievement of the organisation’s objectives and goals using Lean Leadership.
David has supported senior teams with their Lean Leadership journeys within industries such as our automotive parent, Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Heavy Manufacturing. He has also taken many of the elements involved in this support into Elite Sports.
In parallel with leading the Renault-Nissan Consulting organisation in the UK, David co-heads the British Quality Foundation’s Lean Six Sigma Academy, providing support and guidance to the leaders of many UK organisations in leading their business improvement journeys.
In 2013 David was also invited to join the Lean Master’s Faculty at the University of Buckingham Business School, where he now lectures on Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) as part of their Lean Master’s programme. See partnership link announcement.
