Abimbola is the Managing Partner of Chris Ogunbanjo & Co., a leading corporate law firm in Nigeria. He joined the firm over 24 years ago after a spell as a credit analyst with Chase Manhattan Bank (Nigeria) Limited. Abimbola has vast knowledge of and experience in the areas of sovereign debt, capital markets, shipping and joint ventures and has garnered considerable corporate finance experience working with public and private institutions including rendering advice to a host of blue chip multinational corporations. He was actively involved in establishing Brass LNG Limited, the $5bn Liquefied Natural Gas Plant to be located in Bayelsa State, Nigeria and putting in place all legal and corporate structures for the company preparatory to its full operation.
He is currently the Second Vice President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. He is a member of several professional bodies including the Institute of Petroleum (UK), International Bar Association. Abimbola is a Governing Council Member and the Legal Adviser of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping and former Vice Chairman of the Commercial Law and Taxation Committee of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. As a result of his deep understanding of the corporate landscape, he is a director of several multinational companies, including ConocoPhillips, the Frigogalss Group and ABB Powerlines.
