Parvathy completed her BSc (Hons) Biotechnology from University of Westminster and her final year project involved the isolation of ATP dependent Clp protease from Finegoldia magna using bioinformatics and PCR techniques. She went on to complete her MSc in Molecular Genetics from University of Leicester. Her research project involved the analysis of various components involved in the regulation of Elongator complex phosphomodification in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
Parvathy is currently working as a research assistant on the Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis project but also completing her PhD part-time.
- Investigating the pathogenesis and mechanisms underlying Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). This involves transcriptomics, bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques.
- In addition she performs all routine and specialized histology duties including: processing, embedding, cutting (paraffin and frozen sections), staining (various special stains including H&E), immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.
