Room descriptions
There are 36 rooms. Please remember to bring your own bedding. You will also need your own towels.
Self-contained rooms (6)
These spacious rooms offer ensuite facilities and an open plan bedroom/kitchen. They feature double beds.
Ensuite rooms (3)
These single rooms are very small; there is not much floor space.
Standard rooms (27)
These are single standard bedrooms with washbasin facilities. There are 2 showers and 2 toilets per 7 students.
Mini cools feature in the ensuite and standard rooms.
Kitchens
There are kitchens on each floor which are shared by 12 students.
Students staying in the ensuite and standard rooms have a kitchen locker and an allocated drawer in a freezer.
Please bring your own pots & pans, crockery and knives & forks.
Cleaning and housekeeping
Communal areas are cleaned Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
Laundry facilities
The nearest laundrette is in the Franciscan building.
Parking
Car parking is available at Verney Park.

Bishops Court consists of 13 single gender flats, spread over 3 buildings.
Bishops Court flat configurations
Ground floor
- 1 – 5 Bishops Court – Rooms 1 – 3 share a bathroom. Room 4 has a private bathroom located outside of the room. Room 5 is ensuite. All 5 rooms share one kitchen.
- 15 – 16 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. Room 15 features a double bed and room 16, a single bed
- 27 – 30 Bishops Court – Rooms 27 and 28 share a bathroom. Rooms 29 and 30 share a bathroom. All four rooms share one kitchen. Room 30 consists of a bedroom plus a separate study room.
First floor
- 7 – 8 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. Room 7 features a single bed and room 8, a double bed
- 9 – 10 Bishops Court – Room 9 has a private bathroom which is located outside of the room. Room 10 is ensuite. This flat has a shared kitchen.
- 17 – 18 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. Room 17 features a single bed and room 18, a double bed
- 19 – 21 Bishops Court – 3 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen.
- 31 – 32 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen.
- 33 – 34 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen. Room 34 consists of a bedroom plus a separate study room.
Second floor
- 12 – 13 Bishops Court – Room 12 has a private bathroom located outside of the room. Room 13 is ensuite. This flat has a shared kitchen.
- 22 – 23 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom and kitchen. Room 22 features a double bed and room 23, a single bed.
- 24 – 25 Bishops Court – 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom and kitchen.
- 27 – 30 Bishops Court – Rooms 27 and 28 share a bathroom. Rooms 29 and 30 share a bathroom. All four rooms share one kitchen. Room 30 consists of a bedroom, plus a separate study room. Room 27 features a double bed but the other three rooms have single beds.
- 35 – 37 Bishops Court – 3 bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen.
Room descriptions
The rooms and facilities vary in size and shape. All flats have a vacuum cleaner and an intercom.
Bedrooms
All bedrooms have: Curtains, bed (3ft single), mattress, desk, desk chair, desk light, shelves, wardrobe, chest of drawers, pinboard
Kitchens
All kitchens are fully fitted and feature a cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. Unfortunately some of the kitchens are too small to include dining furniture.
Bathrooms
- Ensuites/Private bathrooms – Shower, W.C. and washbasin
- Shared bathrooms comprise of shower, W.C. and washbasin.
Location
Bishops Court is located on the Hunter Street campus where the heart of the University can be found within easy walking distance.

Beloff House is located on the Hunter Street campus and is next to the Tanlaw Mill where the bar, restaurant and Students Union is based. It is self-catering accommodation.
Bedrooms
There are 66 ensuite bedrooms. All of the rooms feature a small mini-fridge and vacuum cleaner.
Kitchens
The main kitchens are located on the ground floor and are fully equipped with cookers, microwaves, toasters and kettles. There are mini-kitchens located on the 1st and 2nd floors which are ideal for making a quick snack. Each resident has their own kitchen locker and their own designated freezer drawer. Students need to bring their own towels, pots and pans, crockery and knives and forks. Please remember to bring your own bedding, to fit a single bed.
Cleaning and housekeeping
The communal areas are cleaned daily Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays). To assist the cleaning staff you are asked to wash up after yourselves.
Laundry facilities
The nearest laundrette is in Hailsham House. There is a large car park very close by.
