The University of Buckingham holds an Erasmus Charter and is a member of the Erasmus+ scheme, co-funded by the European Union. Academic staff may apply to take part in order to teach overseas, and administrative staff may apply for training opportunities (job shadowing) at another EU institution with which Buckingham has an Inter-institutional Agreement in place. Students may also apply for a 3 month study exchange. Limited funding and places are available each year, for more information and general enquiries, please contact Chris Maskell:

The University will try and accommodate application requests and ensure fair and equitable opportunities to all potential participants, including those from groups which are usually under-represented in mobility programmes (students or staff with disabilities, students from lower socio-economic backgrounds, with family responsibilities or with part-time jobs, etc.). Staff wishing to participate should read the Staff Selection Criteria. Similarly, students may check the Student Selection Criteria prior to application.

Read The University of Buckingham Erasmus Policy Statement.

Visiting students should search the University website and view the Handbook in order to find information about available courses, accommodation and Student Union activities. Students should be aware that all programmes are taught in English, and language support may be available subject to requirement.

Visiting students should be aware of additional costs that may be associated with an Erasmus+ exchange:

  • Personal insurance (which students are responsible for obtaining)
  • Photocopying and other associated charges
  • Accommodation (which may include utility bills etc.)
