Our aim is to raise £20m in the next five years to transform the campus, provide outstanding facilities for students including an upgraded law faculty and business school, and to erect a new medical school.
We are seeking major donors to get a building programme underway for these three initiatives. We are also looking for benefactors to build up a substantial bursary pot so that UK students with academic potential but inadequate financial backing may consider applying to Buckingham.
Campus development
Our wish list is a medical school, and refurbished law school and business school, as well as a student social venue and sports facilities, more or less in that order. We want to improve social and sporting facilities for students so that they receive a high-class extra-curricular experience.
Bursaries
We need to lay on bursaries for poor students. Your generosity would enable bright young people from the UK – and around the world – to access a high-quality Oxbridge-style education with small-group teaching and a lot of personal attention. Bursaries would carry naming rights.
Social, sport and drama venues
The students at Buckingham need a venue for socialising that is large and sound-proofed. Moreover, at present the campus is lacking in facilities for sport and drama. We would like to build a sports hall for basketball, badminton, volleyball and netball and provide an all-weather football pitch.
