Halls Internet Access (HIA) is available in all student halls of residences across campus. It is free of charge but students must provide their own equipment (apart from the network lead) and comply with the Terms of Use.
To sign up to the HIA service, please do the following:
- Connect your laptop or PC to the network socket in your room using the cable which should already be in your room. Please note that, unless otherwise advised, the cable should be plugged into the socket labelled “A” (left hand socket).
- Turn on your PC
- Open a web browser and navigate to any website
- Follow the instruction on screen to register (see our registration guide PDF 172 KB)
- When the scan of your PC is completed, restart you web browser and start using the internet
