Further details: Martin Ricketts is Professor of Economic Organisation. He graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and has a DPhil from the University of York. He has published in professional journals on the theory of the firm, aspects of public finance and housing policy. He is the author of:

- British Economic Opinion (1990) (with Edward Shoesmith)
- Edinburgh Business School's distance learning MBA text on Government, Industry and Privatisation (with Sir Alan Peacock)
He was Economic Director of the National Economic Development Office 1991-1992 and is a managing trustee of the Institute of Economic Affairs.
