Job title: Lecturer in Law

Department: Law

Areas of expertise: Property Law, including all aspects of land law and trusts, with a particular interest in the registration of new greens under the Commons Act 2006 (and its predecessor, the Commons Registration Act 1965), rights of way (public and private) and the prescriptive acquisition of property rights in general. Ms Meager also has a keen interest in the principles of civil procedure.

Further details: Ms Meager is a practising door tenant at Harcourt Chambers (Temple, London & Oxford), is a member of the Property Bar Association, is a member of the Bar Pro Bono Unit's panel of volunteers, and teaches the Law of Trusts for New College, Oxford, for whom she has taught for many years. She is also actively engaged in research concerning issues of property law. She has published a number of pieces on the law regarding the registration of new greens together with articles and case commentaries on a broader range of property law topics. Current research includes the examination of specific aspects of the doctrine of prescription. Ms Meager is also involved in a joint research project with academics at another institution, concerned with undertaking empirical research into the impact of litigation costs on small businesses.
