Further details: David McLoughlin is a Chartered Psychologist, qualified in both educational and occupational psychology. He has been in practice as a psychologist since 1972 and has specialised in dyslexia since 1984, as a private practitioner, a consulting psychologist to schools, as well as Professional Director of the Independent Dyslexia Consultants. He is a Member of the International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities (IARLD). IARLD is an elected group of premier scientists, educators and clinicians in the field of learning disabilities throughout the world.
Dr McLoughlin is principal author of McLoughlin, D. et.al. Adult dyslexia: assessment counselling and training (Whurr, 1994) and McLoughlin, D. et.al. The adult dyslexic: interventions and outcomes (Whurr, 2002). He is a regular contributor to national and international conferences as well as journals.
