Further details: John Clarke is a graduate of the University of Oxford, has an Oxford DPhil and is a former Fellow of All Souls College. He joined the staff of the then University College at Buckingham at the time of its opening in 1976. His books include:

  • The Book of Buckingham (1984)
  • The Book of Brackley (1987)
  • British Foreign Policy and Diplomacy 1784-1865 (1989)
  • Yesterday's Brackley: from Restoration to Reform (1990)

John Clarke is currently working on a history of the University of Buckingham. His book on Victorian and Edwardian Brackley will be published soon. He is Museum Trustee of the Buckingham Heritage Trust and Joint Editor of Records of Buckinghamshire .
