February 2004 update
'Any Questions?' - John Clare's section appearing in The Daily Telegraph on the 14th February mentions the University in connection with fees and independence in higher education.
'Public Servants Get Down to Business' - the University was mentioned in The Guardian on the 17th February in relation to MBA courses.
'The Unusual Side of Art' - the recent exhibition of Anthony Green RA at the University was publicised in the March edition of The Artists & Illustrators Magazine .
Radio, TV and other appearances
Chris Woodhead appeared on:
- Radio Bristol on the 3rd February to discuss the re-organisation of schools
- Radio Kent concerning religious education and the re-organisation of schools
- The 'You and Yours' Radio 4 programme to discuss meeting employers concerns about education, also on 3rd February
- GMTV and ITV news on the 4th February to discuss Ofsted reports
- BBC Breakfast News, News 24, Newsnight and the News at 10, Radio Bristol and the Three Counties concerning the Tomlinson report on 14-19 education.
- Radio Oxford and the Politics Show and also took part in Education Questions in Parliament on 12th February.
- Radio Gloucester on 18th February and had two articles published in the Gloucester Citizen on the re-organisation of schools
- spoke on the Today programme on 20th February about our obsession with comparisons and mediocrity
- appeared on Central TV on 27th February talking about child stress. This followed on from his quotes in an article in The Times of the same date, on the same subject
June Arunga (student of the University) was the subject of a BBC3 television documentary telling of her 5,000-mile journey through Africa on a quest to decide whether her higher education should be undertaken in Africa or overseas. This was broadcast on 8th February.
Research undertaken by two University students Wendy Snowden and Kei Ito was publicised in the Science and Discovery section of the Ananova website this month.
'Student to feature in documentary' - Law student June Arunga's television debut was featured in the Buckingham and Winslow Advertiser on the 6th February.
'Exchanging information' - The education and business exchanges organised by local Rotary Club members which took place at the University involving Keiko Segawa, a student of the University, was publicised in the Brackley and Towcester Advertiser and the Buckingham and Winslow Advertiser on the 20th February.
'Sounding the trumpet' - this concert at the University received separate cover in an article publicising the event in the Brackley and Towcester Advertiser and the Buckingham andWinslow Advertiser on the 20th February.
'Modern Art Polish Style' - the Polish Art Exhibition at the University by alumnus Ruprecht von Heusinger was featured in the Buckingham and Winslow Advertiser on the 27th February.
