ESU MOOTING COMPETITION, ROUND 1

Ahed Attar, Mr Tim Gleeson (the judge) and Tshepiso Makhoha
Harminder Kaur (BCU), Varun Mahan (Buckingham), Victoria Prentis (judge), Ferdinand Morvay (Buckingham), Rachelle Harrison (BCU)

Thursday 17 December 2009

Varun Mahan and Ferdinand Morvay represented the University of Buckingham in the first round of the ESU Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition, hosted by the University of Buckingham on Wednesday 16 December. They competed against Rachelle Harrison and Harminder Kaur from Birmingham City University (BCU). Both teams put up strong performances in front of judge Victoria Prentis, a senior barrister with the Treasury Solicitor's Office at the Government Legal Service. It was a very close-run competition but the University of Buckingham team was declared the winner and will go on to moot in the next round of the competition. The judge was thoroughly impressed by the amount of work that had been put in by both teams and gave lots of positive feedback to each of them. We congratulate all of the mooters on their magnificent efforts.
