On Thursday 15 May 2008, the University of Buckingham saw the first cohort of Medical School students start their degree programmes. Professor Karol Sikora, Dean of the School and Mrs Chloe Woodhead, Chairman of Council, were among those welcoming them at a reception to celebrate this landmark occasion in the University's history. This exciting new initiative could never have happened without the support and continuing guidance of Professor Arnold and Professor Mathur, both of whom are actively involved in the delivery of the programme. The students, studying a two-year MD in Clinical Medicine, will receive their tuition at the Buckingham campus and Ealing Hospital.
The University has long prided itself on its independence and that independent ethos is continued in the new Medical School, the first of its kind in the UK.
We continue to busily recruit for our next cohort in September 2008, visit the Medical School for further information.
