The Plenary Session in Courtroom 1 is the highlight of the annual Legal Practice Workshop. This is the largest event in the Careers Service calendar, where Law students are selected to appear before a bench of practising lawyers (and their peers) to present legal arguments. This year the students made a variety of complex bail applications to a mock courtroom.
The legal practitioners who give their time and skills are mainly Buckingham Law School alumni who practise locally and in London and further afield. Their achievements provide our Law students with inspiration to persevere with their academic and professional goals.
This year's winners were:
- First Place: Glenn Stanbury
- Second Place: Sally-Ann Lewis
- Third Place: Omosuyi Fred-Omojole
With opportunities for student legal work experience being so highly competitive, we are delighted that Ms Pauline Purcell (LLB 1999), principal of Purcell Solicitors in Milton Keynes, has donated a week of work experience to the winner, Glenn. This is an excellent opportunity for Glenn to take his fledgling legal career one step further up the ladder.
