FRESHERS "LAND" AT THE UNIVERSITY! |

Thursday 9th October 2003 Last week the University welcomed freshers arriving from various parts of the world for the October intake. Registration ran like clockwork - a logistical operation performed with military accuracy! Thus, what some might have expected to be a boring process was in fact a cheerful greeting by the Admissions, Finance, Accommodation and Registry teams. By the end of Registration, all the freshers were happy - and safe and sound in their new homes. The Welcome Reception, hosted by the Friends of the University, took place in the Chandos Road Building, in the inspirational setting of an exhibition of paintings by the Stowe School students. The welcome address to the freshers was delivered by a current Law student who gave practical and encouraging advice to the newcomers about making the most of everything they do during their time at the University. This in mind, the freshers spent the weekend getting to know the town (and its pubs!) with a little help from our old guns! Although the classes have started now the atmosphere has not been dampened and everyone is still excited about welcoming newcomers into our community.
