Professor Dominguez meets Vice Chancellor Professor James Tooley

First Cuban visitor makes huge impact at university

Professor Dominguez lecturing to undergraduate and postgraduate studentsThe International Institute for the Study of Cuba invited its first visitor to The University of Buckingham in May.

The University of Buckingham has the pleasure of hosting Professor Ernesto Domínguez López of the University of Havana for three days throughout 11-14 May.

His visit certainly made a big impact on the university, as he lent his expertise during two lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students, presented a research seminar of his latest work, and presided at four small group tutorials.

During his stay, Professor Dominguez was introduced to Professor James Tooley, the Director of the Humanities Research Institute, Professor John Adamson, the Director of the Centre for United Nations Studies, Mark Seddon, and Professor Julian Richards, the Director of the Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies.

Professor Domínguez is a Visiting Professor at the University and an expert on US-Cuba relations. He will be publishing his latest research in the IISC’s journal, The International Journal of Cuban Studies. While visiting the University, Professor Domínguez also presented a seminar online, a recording of which is available to view on the CubaStudies YouTube Channel.
