The University of Buckingham Music Society (UBMuS)

The Society's purpose is to establish a means for musicians at the University to organise, perform, record, and to create a community of support amongst the student body. The Society will keep people informed of local musical events, and aim to sponsor performances by students at the University and a variety of other venues.

The support for differing genres of music is not limited. From the classical violin musician to the R&B disc jockey, the Society will accommodate musicians and music enthusiasts of all varieties. It aims to provide general and diverse music activities and experiences that will assist University students in their appreciation and knowledge of music, and from which the UBMuS would benefit from the vast range of diverse cultures that exist in the student population at Buckingham.

The Society's aims include:

  • Making music lessons available for students through a peer-to-peer learning experience offered by UBMuS members.
  • Incorporating support for studio recording, production and live performances.
  • Providing members with equipment to accommodate practice, studies, performances and the production of music.
  • Providing an opportunity for all members to rehearse and perform regularly in ensembles.
  • Collaborating with projects and events in the town of Buckingham.
  • Establishing a listening and sharing music library.
