Judith Bray Judith Bray, LLB, LLM (Lond), Barrister
Senior Lecturer in Law, Director of the Part-Time LLB

Graduated from King's College London where she went on to do an LLM. Called to the Bar and practised for a short time before going on to teach at the Inns of Court School of Law. She teaches Law of Trusts, Land Law and Constitutional Law. Her other interests lie in child law, family law and juvenile justice.

Carol BrennanCarol Brennan, LLB (Hons) (LSE), MA, PhD, Barrister
Senior Lecturer in Law

Before coming to Buckingham, Dr Brennan was a Principal Lecturer in Law at Oxford Brookes University where she was Director of the Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE). She teaches the Law of Tort, in which she has recently published a textbook, as well as Evidence and Criminology.

Her research interests include restorative justice, with a focus on the role of the victim, and governmental responses to historic institutional child abuse.

Jason de Mink Jason de Mink, BA, LLB, LLM (Cape Town), Attorney
Lecturer in Law, Law Careers Officer, Chancellor's Cup Co-ordinator

Graduated from the University of Cape Town where he went on to do an LLM in Commercial Law. He practised law in South Africa and the UK for over a decade, as well as working as an advisor at a trust company. Currently completing a PhD at the University of Buckingham on the investment duties of trustees. He has published on the pitfalls of trustee investment.

Mr de Mink lectures on the Law of Trusts course and also tutors Land Law and Introduction to Legal Studies at undergraduate level. He teaches a course on the LLM entitled "Tax Havens, Money Laundering and Trust Law". His research interests include the trustees' fiduciary duties in relation to trust assets, sham trusts, the different forms of global piracy and the increasing use of private security companies in conflict zones.

Jason also teaches the Korean martial art of Taekwondo at the University of Buckingham.

Karen Dyer Karen Dyer, BA (QTS) Warwick, PGDip (Central School of Speech & Drama), ALCM, CPE / Diploma in Law (London Metropolitan), LLM Medical Law & Ethics (Kent)
Lecturer in Law

Having initially studied Drama and History, Ms Dyer worked for several years as a freelance actor and wrote plays for various children's theatre companies before converting to Law. During her legal studies, she became an advocate for the Free Representation Unit (FRU), representing clients in various Social Security appeals. She also won the Lady Oliver Cup for mooting, judged by the Rt Hon. Lord Walker of Gestingthorpe.

She teaches Criminal Law, Law of Tort and EU Law. Current areas of research include euthanasia, and the legal and ethical dilemmas surrounding organ transplantation.

Nigel Foster Nigel Foster, BA (Law) (Hons) (UKC), LLM (Exeter), Dip. German (Wales)
Professor of European Law

Before coming to Buckingham, Professor Foster lectured in European law and other subjects for 22 years at Cardiff Law School where he was for many years Director of the Law and German degree and more recently director of the LLM in European Legal Studies. Former Jean Monnet Professor of European Law. He teaches EU Law and Constitutional and Administrative Law.

Francis Grimal Francis Grimal, LLB (Hons) (Nottingham), LLM (Reading), PhD (Reading)
Lecturer in Law

Dr Grimal previously taught at the University of Reading at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He recently completed his doctoral thesis in International Law which examines the concept of inter-state threats of force and their subsequent legality.

Dr Grimal teaches International Law on both the LLB and LLM courses and EU Law on the LLB. His research interests include the use of force, nuclear proliferation, self-defence, collective security, humanitarian intervention and international humanitarian law.

Gregory Ioannidis Gregory Ioannidis, LLB (Hons), LLM (Sports Law), PhD (Sports Law), Negotiation Co-ordinator, Faculty Advisor for the Bar of England and Wales, Advocate
Lecturer in Law

Dr Ioannidis is a lecturer in Sports Law and a practising advocate specialising in doping in sport and criminal law. He also teaches Contract Law and Legal Skills & Procedure. His PhD is based on the criminalisation of doping in sport and he has advised and represented a number of sports personalities and governing bodies on issues of doping. He has experience in doping and rape trials. Dr Ioannidis was voted "in the top 20 of the most influential lawyers in the world, in sports law" by Sports Business International magazine in November 2009.

Graham Melling BA (Hons), LLM (Sheffield), PhD (Reading)
Lecturer in Law

Graham previously taught law at the University of Reading & De Montfort University teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has held appointments as a visiting lecturer at Kings College London, the University of Leicester and Oxford Brookes University.

He completed his doctoral thesis in International Law at the University of Reading in 2005 on the validity of the United Nations Charter use of force paradigm.

He teaches EU law and Tort Law and research interests include international law and theory, international relations theory and international law, use of force, self-defence, international dispute settlement.

Dr Paolini is a lecturer in Banking Law and Company Law. His area of research and interest also includes Insurance Law and Dispute Resolution. He is the co-author of the recently published Directors' and Officers' Liability Insurance and contributor to "Directors and Officers" (chapter 23) in the well known Professional Negligence and Liability loose-leaf published by Informa Law.

Graduated from Sussex with a degree in Law and French. He also has an LLM from Harvard and a PhD from Birmingham. Qualified as a solicitor. His area of specialist interest is criminal law, which was the subject of his PhD. He teaches this subject along with Jurisprudence and Introduction to Legal Studies 1. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Birmingham's Law School..

Jae Sundaram Jae Sundaram, LLB (India), LLM in Maritime Law (Southampton), Advocate (India), Solicitor of England & Wales, PG Cert (HE)
Senior Lecturer in Law, Director and Admissions Tutor, LLM programmes

A dual qualified lawyer, Jae practised for a number of years before taking to academics. He has an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton and taught at the University of Plymouth before moving to the University of Buckingham. He teaches Maritime Law (both wet & dry), International Trade Law, Law of World Trade and Commercial Conflict of Laws in the LLM Programme and tutors in Torts and Contract Law.

Jae practices Tai Chi, Qigong & Yoga and also teaches Tai Chi & Qigong at the University of Buckingham.
