The University operates a flexible admissions policy and aims to interview personally every candidate who is able to attend. Many kinds of international qualification are accepted at Buckingham, which has students from over 80 countries worldwide. We offer our own scholarships to well-qualified candidates and give automatic entry with the following tariffs: A / AS -level (pre-2000 10 points); Curriculum 2000 (190 points); Advanced GNVQ (Merit); International Baccalaureate (24 points); Irish Leaving Certificate / Scottish Higher ( CCCC ). We value highly evidence of journalistic attributes whether actual work experience or simply the indication of curiosity, tenacity and communicative capacity.

For speakers of English as a Foreign Language ( EFL ), language skills at a fairly advanced level are desirable for entry on to the programme - ideally an IELTS score (or equivalent) of 6.5 or over. Please see details about our 1 or 2-term Foundation programmes in English as a Foreign Language ( EFL ) if your are unsure about your level.
