Having initially studied Drama and History, Ms Dyer worked for several years as a freelance actor and wrote plays for various children’s theatre companies before converting to Law. During her legal studies, she became an advocate for the Free Representation Unit (FRU), representing clients in various Social Security appeals. She also won the Lady Oliver Cup for mooting, judged by the Rt Hon. Lord Walker of Gestingthorpe.

She teaches Criminal Law, Law of Tort and EU Law. Current areas of research include euthanasia, and the legal and ethical dilemmas surrounding organ transplantation.
